The heart and soul of Rexburg is Slim Johnny’s. It’s a small joint that incorporates the style of the 70’s.

Many people go for the food but others go for the dancing. That’s right, dancing. The dining room is actually a dance floor that is covered with a giant disco ball in the middle of the room.

The food is not what you would expect. It’s a country style grill that serves various kinds of meats such as ostrich, quale, ox, goat, and the delicious snipe. They grill the meats in an open pit that has been cooking meats since the 50’s. The old char that is left from the meats gets reused to create that authentic taste and hickory smoke flavor that you can’t find anywhere else.
